The Council is running 10 Yoga classes in Delhi. Five Yoga Classes are conducted at Council’s HQ, Two at Udyog Bhavan and three at AIIMS.
It is one of the propagation activities undertaken by the Council itself in its premises. These Yoga fitness classes are open to the general public interested to improve their health status to make them fit and to keep away from diseases as well.
A nominal fee of Rs.100/- per month is charged. At present, the Council conducts four classes in the morning from 6.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and one class in the evening from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. The persons enrolled are benefited from these fitness classes. The patients suffering from various disorders like Arthritis, Asthma, Gastric disorders, Backache, Obesity, Stress and Tension got benefited from these classes. In addition to this, Yoga & Naturopathy counseling also helped them in managing their psychiatric and other problems. These classes are very popular in the area.
For the benefit of Central Govt. employees working in Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi and its surrounding areas, the Council conducts two Yoga classes at Udyog Bhawan from 4.30 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. and from 5.15 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on all working days. The participants are benefited by the programme.
The Council has provided services of Yoga Instructor for smooth functioning of Integral Health Clinic (IHC) at the Deptt. of Physiology, AIIMS, New Delhi. The programme at IHC includes three Yoga classes, lectures on various aspects of Health, Diet and Nutrition, Stress Management, Yoga in Daily Life etc. for the benefit of public.
